Precious Metal Bursary Award 2015

Inspired visually by agricultural architecture, and conceptually by our value systems with spaces we rely upon, Nicola designed a limited series of brooches for the Goldsmith’s Precious Metal Bursary Award. Nicola was awarded in full, enabling her to see the designs through to fruition. By utilising preconceived notions of material preciousness and contrasting them with processes to reflect the source inspiration; Nicola was able to challenge playfully our notions around what is valued, and that which is actually valuable.
